an organization devoted to improving the understanding of public finance. The Foundation supports a wide range of initiatives from conducting professional development for state treasurers and their staffs to educating citizens about
sound personal financial management.

For more than 10 years, the Foundation has supported the educational initiatives
of the National Association of State Treasurers.

 

Message from the Chair

The National Association of State Treasurers Foundation is devoted to providing financial education opportunities for state treasurers as well as promoting financial capability among our constituents. I am honored to serve as chair in 2011.

State treasurers and their professional staffs play a crucial role in attaining and maintaining every aspect of states’ fiscal health. State treasurers’ experience, integrity and judgment directly affect states’ financial standing in national and international markets. Toward that end, the Foundation provides vital continuing education to state officials in public finance.

The NAST Foundation also supports treasurers’ efforts to bring personal finance education to citizens of all ages. In these difficult economic times, financial capability is more important than ever for American families.
